How to plan your travel itinerary

Updated on June 01, 20264 min read

The Planning page turns your animated route into a real travel itinerary: dates, nights per stop, estimated travel time per segment. Use it before a trip to design a realistic plan, or after a trip to build a polished recap.

Open the Planning page

From the editor, click "Plan" in the top bar. You land on a calendar view that mirrors your current route, with one row per stop and per segment.

Set the departure date

Pick the day you leave. Every arrival and departure date is recomputed automatically from this anchor, based on the nights and travel times you configure below.

Configure nights per stop

Tap each stop to set the number of nights you spend there. The next stop's arrival date updates instantly. You can also tag a stop as "transit only" (no overnight) for layovers and short photo breaks.

Adjust travel time per segment

Travel Story Maker estimates a default travel time from the vehicle and the segment distance. Override it whenever you know the real value — a 13-hour flight, an overnight train, a slow scenic drive.

Add cover, title and country

From the same page, upload a cover image, set a trip title and pick the main country. These are displayed in your Dashboard, in the Templates gallery if you make the trip public, and as an optional intro card on the exported video.
